Santa Paws comes to town

Santa Paws

VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT)

Santa Paws came to town thanks to the Humane Society of Ventura County.

It's an annual holiday family photo opportunity.

The first of two Santa Paws events took place at the Ventura Beach Marriott on Sunday.

The second Santa Paws will take place on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the HSVC shelter in Ojai, at 402 Bryant St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can pose with their pets for family photos and enjoy a fundraising bake sale.

Another fundraiser called Tiles for Tails will be hosted by Firefly Ceramics.

Tiles for Tails involves hand-painting tiles or imprinting paws for a $25 fee, with proceeds going to the building of a new dog kennel at the HSVC.

HSVC is also hosting an ugly sweater contest.

Gift certificates from Ojai Ice Cream will be awarded for the ugliest sweater for humans and their pets.

For a donation of $30, visitors will receive 5 to 10 photographs provided onsite on USB flash drives.

For more information on the HSVC and on the Santa Paws events, visit, HSVC.org or call 805-646-6505.
