Red Cross holds blood drive at Oxnard High
OXNARD, Calif. - Some teens didn't mind missing class to donate the gift of life.
They were excused from choir and other classes to donate blood during a Red Cross blood drive at Oxnard High School on Monday.
Others gave blood during lunchtime.
First-time donors, under the age of 18, need parents to sign a consent form.
Alondra Macias said, "I donated blood today and it felt pretty good, I know I was doing the right thing, I made myself feel good."
The American Red Cross website says there is a critical need for blood and platelet donors.
