Highway 154 reopens following hours-long weather closure
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Highway 154 reopened Thursday afternoon, after it was closed for more than eight hours due to a rock slide and weather conditions.
California Highway Patrol first closed Highway 154 in both directions at 6:26 a.m.
According to Montecito Fire, Highway 154 was expected to be closed all day.
Caltrans tweeted that both sides of the highway had reopened as of 3 p.m. Thursday.
The highway was closed on the Santa Barbara side from Highway 192/Cathedral Oaks to mile marker 31.54, according to CHP. Traffic was able to get through to Paradise Rd, but not past it.
On the Buellton side, CHP said the highway was closed at Highway 246.
