LOS OLIVOS, Calif. – A cyclist was airlifted to the hospital Sunday afternoon after they were hit by a vehicle in Los Olivos.

It happened just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 154 and Foxen Canyon Road.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the cyclist who was hit suffered major injuries and had to be transported by helicopter to for treatment of their injuries. A second person suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.

Traffic on Highway 154 and Foxen Canyon was slowed and lanes were closed temporarily due to the crash.

The roadway was reopened completely around 3:40 p.m.
