Road work begins on stretch of E. Cherry Avenue in Arroyo Grande

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - A stretch of E. Cherry Avenue in Arroyo Grande will be closed to eastbound traffic this week.

A 500-foot section from Traffic Way to Waller Street will be closed to eastbound traffic starting Monday and lasting through Friday.

The city says eastbound traffic will be detoured to Allen Street and then south on Garden Street to E. Cherry Avenue.

Westbound traffic will not be impacted.

Construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. It's possible the project could last through Saturday depending on the weather or if crews run into any issues.

Traffic on both sides of E. Cherry Avenue will be shifted to the south side next week to complete paving for the project.
