Vegetation fire reaches half-acre near Highway 101

ORCUTT, Calif. (KEYT) – A vegetation fire is currently burning at half an acre south of Clark Avenue, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The fire broke out just after 3:00 p.m., and black smoke is visible near the hills east of Highway 101, according to CalAlert.

A car burst into flames around the same time as the vegetation fire, showing black smoke on the right side of the road, according to CalTrans.

The SBCFD, the Santa Maria Fire Department and CAL FIRE SLO are tackling this fire, and the public is advised to avoid the area.
