Pismo Beach man arrested for vandalizing public safety ALPR cameras in Monterey County

PISMO BEACH, Calif. (KEYT) – The Monterey County Sheriff's Office arrested a 40-year-old Pismo Beach man for intentionally vandalizing at least three automated license plate recognition cameras.

The 40-year-old traveled to Monterey County and intentionally damaged the cameras, totaling thousands of dollars in damage to public safety infrastructure in the Lockwood and Bradley communities.

Separate surveillance camera footage captured the Pismo Beach man damaging the ALPR cameras.

That evidence, along with other investigative leads, allowed the MCSO to arrest him for felony vandalism.

The 40-year-old's bail is set at $30,000.
