LOMPOC, Calif. (KEYT) – Emergency responders are on the scene of a hazardous materials response at the federal correctional complex in Lompoc Monday.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, firefighters from their agency are working alongside the Lompoc City Fire Department at the low-security, federally-operated correctional facility on Klein Boulevard.

That facility is one of two in the same area northwest of Lompoc.

The prison complex on Klein Boulevard houses over 2000 inmates in the facility and adjacent minimum security camps.

Your News Channel has reached out to both Federal Correctional Institute Lompoc as well as the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and their respective responses will be added to this article when they are received.
