Port Hueneme man arrested Wednesday after violent assault at Goleta Best Western
GOLETA, Calif. – A 33-year-old Port Hueneme man was arrested and booked on charges including attempted homicide and assault with intent to rape in connection with an incident at the Best Western South Coast on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, around 5:51 a.m. deputies were called to the Best Western South Coast in the 5600 block of Calle Real in Goleta regarding an attempted homicide and assault with the intent to rape and the perpetrator was identified as a 33-year-old Port Hueneme man detail Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, around 3:30 p.m. the same day, Santa Barbara County Fire Department's Air Support Unit helped deputies locate the man near Del Norte Drive and Glenn Annie Road where he was apprehended without incident.
The 33-year-old was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of attempted homicide, assault with intent to rape, false imprisonment, and criminal threats and his bail has been set at $1 million state Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
The Air Support Unit is a partnership between Santa Barbara County's Sheriff's Office and Fire Department which both provide staff for the all-hazard unit explains the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
