SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Northern Santa Barbara County, Allan Hancock College and United Ways of California announced they are teaming for a presentation on the results of 2023 The Real Cost Measure in California.
This presentation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Boyd Concert Hall (building F) at Allan Hancock's Santa Maria campus.Â
According to the report from Allan Hancock College, "The Real Cost Measure, a self-sufficiency standard designed by United Ways of California, finds that 42% of Santa Barbara County households – 50,929 residents and families – do not earn enough to cover their basic living expenses, with Latino and Black households struggling the most."
