New Funding brings an Emotional Wellness Program to the Boys and Girls Club of Mid Central Coast

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The Center Studio donated funds to support the Emotional Wellness Program at the Boys and Girls Club of Mid Central Coast (BGCMCC).

The donations aim to implement and expand the Youthful Mindfulness Movement Program for Club Kids, teaching kids the tools for self-care and emotional well-being.

A check was presented yesterday at the Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles to begin funding. They will also donate monthly proceeds from their community education classes.

The Youthful Mindfulness Movement Program will also be offered at the Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria.

Certified yoga instructors will lead engaging and age-appropriate sessions, introducing children to the foundations of yoga practice, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises.

By participating in these sessions, Club Kids learn skills that can be applied in their daily lives, promoting a sense of calmness, self-awareness, and improved focus.

This program introduces children to the practice of yoga and provides them with a space to cultivate mindfulness, build strength, enhance flexibility, and develop emotional resilience.

In addition to the financial donation provided by The Center, Manduka Mats donated 20 mats for the children to use.

The BGCMCC wanted to focus on mental health awareness among children where they can take their skills into adulthood and their family spaces.

Mindful practice improves focus and attention and reduces stress and anxiety while enhancing emotional regulation and self-control by creating a safe space with other people.
