Santa Barbara County Fire Department contains brush fire off Highway 33

CUYAMA, Calif. – Santa Barbara County Fire is responding to a single-story residential structure fire that has evolved into a vegetation fire off Ballinger Canyon Road east of Highway 33.
According to Santa Barbara County Fire Department, approximately six to seven acres of vegetation have burned, but forward progress was stopped at 3:32 p.m.

The fire at the edge of Santa Barbara County is south of Cuyama and north of Ventucopa and assistance from Ventura and Kern was noted by Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Additional responding units have been canceled by the Incident Commander, but present crews will remain on the scene for containment and clean-up detail Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
