City of Santa Maria approves new budget to take effect July 1

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The City of Santa Maria unanimously approved an amended budget on Tuesday night that will begin making changes for the City on Jul. 1.

The City highlighted a $7.55 million investment in maintaining streets, 19 new funded positions across several departments, and the return of Sunday hours at the main Public Library starting Jul. 9.

Additionally, a new tool, Neighborhood Connect, is available to Santa Maria residents, business owners, and visitors to report non-emergency issues to specific categories and receive updates as actions are taken.
