SB Sheriff’s to conduct flyovers of Santa Ynez and Santa Maria riverbeds

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif.– Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office will be doing fly-overs of the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria river areas to clear people occupying the riverbed ahead of the Cachuma Lake spillway release Saturday.

Air support will issue evacuation warnings via helicopters ahead of more rain and plans to release water from Cachuma Lake. The release of water is not expected to rise Santa Ynez River levels any higher than seen in Monday's historic rainfall.

Officials urge people to stay out of the riverbed for their own safety.
