34-year-old Ventura man arrested in Santa Maria for enticing a minor

SANTA MARIA, Calif.– The Santa Maria Police Department alongside the FBI arrested 34-year-old Nelson Galvez for attempting to engage in sexual acts with a person he believed was a minor.

Santa Maria Police arrested Galvez in the 1000 block of east Main Street in Santa Maria after the man drive from Ventura county to meet detectives posed as a minor.

Santa Maria Police believe there could be others that were targeted and in communication with Galvez. The department asks anyone with additional information to contact SMPD Detective Julia Tatarian at (805) 928-3781 at extension 1614.

The Ventura resident was booked in the Santa Barbara County North Branch Jail with a $100,000 bail.
