The City of Santa Maria continues its 2022 Free Concerts in the Park Series with Brass Factory

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks continues its 2022 Free Concerts in the Park Series with live music from Brass Factory this Sunday, Aug. 28.

The community was encouraged to bring lawn chairs or throw blankets, and picnic out with friends and family.

“Listen to some good music and sit in the grass. And so it's a beautiful day. The sun came out, there's snow cones, which are great and there's little games around for the kids”, said Ellyn Pankrantz from Santa Maria.

Brass Factory is a local band with funk, soul, and R&B feel-good sound.

“Dancing up in the front, having a good time. I was surprised at how many people were here. I didn't realize it was going to be this busy", said Pankrantz.

The concert was held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary Centennial Park on 2625 S. College Drive in Santa Maria.

“We have so many beautiful parks and different facilities within the city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department. So being able to kind of highlight one of them and bring the community together for a fun free event", said Bianca McNeil, Facility Specialist for Santa Maria Parks and Recs.

The free concert series kicked off on the 4th of July and will continue on Sept. 18 and 25.
