7-year-old killed after being hit by car in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. - A 7-year-old child has died after being hit by a car in Lompoc Monday evening.

Police responded to a traffic collision on the 100 block of West Pine Avenue just before 7 p.m.

Officers found a vehicle that had struck a 7-year-old child. The driver remained on scene and the paramedics rendered aid to the child.

The child was then taken to the hospital where they later died from their injuries.

Lompoc police are continuing to investigate the crash.
