Driver uninjured after semi-truck overturns at Highway 154/246 roundabout in Santa Ynez Valley
SANTA YNEZ, Calif. - A man was uninjured after the semi-truck he was driving overturned while navigating a roundabout in the Santa Ynez Valley.
It happened Monday at noon at the intersection of Highways 154 and 246.
The 18-wheeler was towing a 53-foot container when one of its tires burst and it turned over at the roundabout.
Santa Barbara County Fire responded with two engines and a battalion chief.
The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured and able to safely remove himself from the vehicle.
Fire crews said there was no obvious hazardous materials coming from the cab of the truck.
Oil did leak out of the vehicle but was contained by crews on scene.
The truck was en route to Santa Maria from the Port of Los Angeles, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department public information officer Mike Eliason.
Westbound traffic on Highway 154 was closed between Foothill Road and Paradise Road due to the crash. Local residents were allowed through. For the latest traffic conditions, click here.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
