Police looking for robbery suspect in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police department is looking for a woman who stole a large amount of merchandise from a store in Santa Maria.

On February 12, police responded to a report of a robbery on the 1400 block of south Broadway in Santa Maria.

Police discovered that employees of the business attempted to prevent a woman from stealing a large amount of merchandise. An employee suffered a minor injury while trying to stop the woman.

The suspect fled the business on foot before officers arrived.

Police say no weapons were used during the crime.

The suspect has not yet been identified. She's described as a light-skinned woman, mid-to-late 20s with blonde hair and a tattoo on her lower back.
