Lompoc police investigate deadly stabbing

LOMPOC, Calif. -- Lompoc police are investigating a fatal stabbing.

It happened on the 600 block of North Fourth Street Saturday afternoon. Investigators said it appears the victim died at the scene.

They were called to the area at about 3:12 p.m. Saturday.

Police said it is the first homicide of the year in Lompoc.

On Monday, Lompoc Police released information that the original report of a stabbing wound is found to be a gunshot wound.

They have not released any information about the victim or suspect.
