Two Suspects At Large After Store Employee Punched During Downtown Robbery

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – Two suspects are at large following a robbery at a downtown retail store Thursday.

On Aug. 20, around 5:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 805 University retail store at 801 State Street for a reported robbery stated a press release Friday from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Investigating officers learned that two suspects, described as two men in their early 20s, had entered the store and attempted to steal merchandise detailed the local law enforcement agency.

According to Santa Barbara Police, when a store employee tried to intervene, one of the suspects pushed him and then punched him in the face before both men fled the store.

The incident appears to have been an isolated incident, shared the Santa Barbara Police Department, and remains under investigation.
