Woman Hospitalized After Crashing E-Bike on Carrillo Street Wednesday Morning

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – An adult woman was hospitalized with a serious head injury after crashing an e-bike on Carrillo Street Wednesday morning.

On July 22, around 10:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic collision involving an e-bike near the intersection of Carrillo Street and Chino Street stated a press release from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

According to Santa Barbara Police, the woman was alone and riding the e-bike eastbound on Carrillo Street when witnesses shared she lost control and fell into the roadway.

The woman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and first responders found that the woman had sustained a serious head injury shared the local police department.

The injured woman was transported to Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment and her identity is being withheld noted the Santa Barbara Police Department.

The Santa Barbara Police Department's Traffic Unit is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the collision added the law enforcement agency.
