Santa Barbara Man Arrested for Robbery and Child Endangerment After State Street Confrontation

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – A 45-year-old Santa Barbara man was arrested Wednesday for robbery and child endangerment after allegedly grabbing a necklace from a juvenile during a fight near the intersection of State Street and Cota Street.

On July 15, around 8:50 p.m., dispatchers received multiple 911 calls reporting a large fight near the 600 block of State Street stated a press release Thursday from the Santa Barbara Police Department.

According to Santa Barbara Police, an investigation revealed that two adult men approached a juvenile boy and began to argue before one of the adult men took a necklace from the boy which resulted in a physical altercation.

No serious injuries were reported from the scene and the necklace was returned to its owner added the local law enforcement agency.

After collecting statements from involved parties and multiple witnesses, officers placed a 45-year-old Santa Barbara man under arrest on suspicion of strong-arm robbery and child endangerment detailed the Santa Barbara Police Department.

The 45-year-old was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $100,000 shared the local police department.
