AHA! Santa Barbara partners with Direct Relief helping teens
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – AHA! Santa Barbara, a nonprofit focused on helping teens, is hosting it’s spring orientation in Santa Barbara this weekend where it will be distributing dental kits donated by Direct Relief.
AHA! helps teenagers, educators, and parents with social and emotional intelligence to dismantle apathy, prevent despair, and interrupt hate-based behavior.
AHA! believes resource donations like the dental kits assist them in serving teens throughout Santa Barbara community.
Direct Relief distributed 1,100 family dental kits to its partners in the area.
The organizations will give the dental kits to families in need across the county.
Direct Relief is assembling another 1,000 family dental kits which will be provided to Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics to support their services to community residents and families in need.
The family dental kits include five toothbrushes, a full size toothpaste, and a package of floss.
While Direct Relief is often recognized for its work supporting disasters and emergencies here in California and across the world, the agency said it also maintains ongoing support to local Santa Barbara County organizations by providing access to medicines, medical supplies, and everyday health items and hygiene products like these dental kits, all free of charge.
