SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – Nonprofit evaluator Charity Navigator gave The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara its 11th consecutive four-star rating.

The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara is the nation's largest community-based provider of college scholarships, according to a press release by the foundation. Raking in 20 four-star ratings over the past 21 years, the foundation said it prides itself on efficiency and transparency.

Each year, the Navigator ranks organizations based on financial health, governance, ethical practices, openness, and programmatic impact.

Mary Dwyer, CEO of the foundation, said "...fewer than 5% of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received 11 consecutive four-star evaluations."

Since 1962, the foundation has awarded $150 million to more than 60,000 students within the county. Eager to continue supporting the community, Dwyer said, "It is gratifying to receive this recognition from Charity Navigator once again."
