Construction begins Tuesday on Goleta’s first-ever community garden and splash pad

GOLETA, Calif. — Construction begins Tuesday on Goleta’s first-ever community garden and splash pad.

The garden will be located at Armitos Park, while the splash pad will be installed at nearby Johnny D. Wallis Park.

Groundbreaking ceremonies for both projects were held last week.

Armitos Park will be closed during construction, while Johnny D. Wallis Park will be partially open as long as crews say it is safe.

The project is expected to wrap up in mid October.
