Montecito bucket brigade marks fifth anniversary of major mudslides with light display

MONTECITO, Calif. – Recent storms might have cancelled scheduled Montecito mudslide anniversary events, but this weekend, the Montecito Bucket Brigade used a searchlight to pierce the night sky in remembrance of the fifth anniversary of the dangerous debris flows in the area.

The brigade helped many in the community five years ago and continue to now as residents clean up following heavy rains in the area during January.

Rain might have cancelled those memorial events, but not the spirit and resolve of the Montecito community and the bucket brigade ready to lend a hand when trouble arrives.
