According to the county's Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery office, residents should:

  1. Make preparations to leave the area by filling their gas tanks, load or protect important documents and gather essential items
  2. Leave now if you feel unsafe or may need extra time to leave if an evacuation order is issued
  3. Be ready for an evacuation order anytime until Tuesday Jan. 10 from the County of Santa Barbara

An evacuation warning is one step below an evacuation order and is used so that people with disabilities, access issues or functional issues can begin their evacuations before an order is given.

For evacuation assistance call 805-688-5551 or call 211.

Those with large animals are also expected to act on this warning ahead of an evacuation order. For large animal evacuation assistance call 805-892-4484.
