SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 contains 14 separate federally funded community projects for the Central Coast region of California totaling $22,466,540.

Submitted by Congressman Salud Carbajal in April, these funds will apply to projects in all three counties in his district and are only awaiting a Presidential signature to become law.

“As the Central Coast’s Representative, my first and foremost responsibility is to deliver real results for our communities and its residents – and today I’m proud to do that again by delivering more than $22 million to support projects that will improve our quality of life,” said Representative Carbajal.

The $1.7 billion federal budget was passed by a 221-205-1 vote in the House on Dec. 23 after Senate passage by a 68-29 vote on Dec. 22.

Some of the notable projects for the Central California Coastal region include $7 million to support carpool lane expansion on U. S. Highway 101 between Santa Barbara and Ventura, $2 million to upgrade the Orcutt Branch Library and $1.5 million to improve Morro Bay's North T-Pier.
