Central Coast Bank of America branches donate over $2.5 million to local organizations

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Bank of America locations across Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura communities donated $2.6 million to non-profit organizations.

Santa Barbara Women's Economic Ventures, the Women's Business Center San Luis Obispo, and SCORE of San Luis Obispo were recipients of the funds.

Bank of America donations expanded to include educational organizations like the University of California Santa Barbara's Bren School of Environmental Sciences, Ventura College Foundation, and Foundation for Santa Barbara City College.

“Nonprofits are on the front lines of addressing complex societal challenges – understanding the needs and obstacles the Central Coast faces. Bank of America is partnered with those nonprofits to support development the solutions and services that promote economic advancement,” said Midge Campbell-Thomas, President of Bank of America Ventura and Santa Barbara.

In addition to those monetary contributions, Bank of America employees have given their time to area non-profits such Habitat for Humanity and free financial education workshops in English and Spanish.
