Carpinteria man arrested for alleged child pornography, assault
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A Carpinteria man was arrested for alleged child pornography possession and exchange along with multiple assaults on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Santa Barbara police detectives arrested a 33-year-old Carpinteria man after a warrant was given at his home.
Detectives were investigating two cyber tips from Los Angeles Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, or ICAC, about a suspect who was allegedly exchanging child pornography on a messaging app.
During their search, detectives seized several electronics and other evidence in connection to the crime.
Detectives also found that the suspect was attempting to meet juveniles for sexual purposes, and had several unreported assault and battery charges.
He was arrested for possession of child pornography.
Detectives are looking to obtain a bail increase for $300,000.
