400,000 COVID vaccines have been distributed in Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – More than 400,000 COVID vaccines have been distributed across Santa Barbara County, according to the County’s Community Data Dashboard

According to SB County Public Health, that’s equivalent to about 51.4%t of residents who received at least one dose.

Public Health Director Dr. Van Do-Reynoso says not many other county leaders can claim over half of their residents are vaccinated for COVID-19.

But she says they're working to get even more people vaccinated.

“I am thrilled that we have quite a few collaborative partnerships in the community Doing outreach to ensure that for those who have not gotten the vaccine that they hear about the vaccine," said Do-Reynoso.

Dr. Do-Reynoso says her team will work tirelessly until their goal of reaching herd immunity is met, which is getting at least 80% of residents vaccinated.
