Rancho La Patera and Stow House grounds reopen for weddings, cultural ceremonies
GOLETA, Calif. - A popular venue for outdoor weddings and celebrations is back open to the public.
The City of Goleta just approved weddings and cultural ceremonies on the beautiful grounds at Rancho La Patera and Stow House.
“We’re excited to offer this special setting to people for special times in their lives,” said Amanda De Lucia, Executive Director for the Goleta Valley Historical Society.
Capacity is limited to 40 people or less, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Receptions are not yet allowed.
The historic site is off North Los Carneros Rd. and dates back to 1872. The nearly five acre landmark is nestled among the 150 acre preserve that includes Lake Los Carneros. Trails used for walking and biking are a big draw and dogs are allowed, on leash. The overall country-like setting is a longtime favorite for music festivals and Fiesta events.
“People have been coming by and really enjoying the property during the pandemic,” De Lucia said. “We see a lot of families with bicycles, which is lovely to see. The Ranch Yard is open on weekends, so come on by. The tractors are fired up between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.”
The landmark Victorian Stow House remains closed and will reopen when it’s safe to do so.
