Cave Fire is officially “out”, cause of fire remains under investigation

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Los Padres National Forest officials announced that the Cave Fire has been called out on Monday afternoon.

Officials say suppression repair on fire lines and Burned Area Emergency Response repairs have been completed.

No smoke, flames or hot spots have been observed more than 30 days.

The Cave Fire began on November 25 and burned a total of 3,126 acres before being contained on December 19.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
