Weatherman surfs his way into the Rincon Classic

CARPINTERIA, Calif.

Shawn Quien competed in the Rincon Classic again this year.

He surfed so well on Saturday that he made it to another round on Sunday.

Surfers on short boards had 20 minutes to catch waves in one of the earliest heats of the morning.

Quien wore a bright orange jersey and came close to making it into another round.

Quien compared it to running a marathon.

Although he didn't win bragging rights, he did took home a goodie bag with a T-shirt, surf wax and coupons inside.
