Sheriff’s Detectives Arrest Ten, Collect 25 Guns And Seize Over Two Kilograms of Cocaine After Narcotics Investigation

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Deputies arrested ten people and seized large quantities of narcotics, guns, and cash in connection with a distribution network on behalf of a local gang.

The investigation coordinated by the Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Detail and in partnership with several other law enforcement agencies focused on the sale of controlled substances across the region for the benefit of the Nipomo 13 criminal street gang explained the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office in a press release Friday.

Investigators discovered evidence about a conspiracy to sell narcotics from two local businesses, Munchiez 805 restaurant in Arroyo Grande and Head Liners barbershop in Nipomo, shared the local sheriff's office.

Detectives also executed multiple search warrants that resulted in the seizure of 2.2 kilograms of cocaine -an estimated street value of around $220,000-, 25 firearms, $60,426 in cash, as well as evidence related to drug sales and gang activity detailed the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

After the searches, detectives then identified con-conspirators in the distribution scheme by analyzinf surveillance video, conducting interviews, reviewing social media, and investigating cell phone evidence shared the law enforcement agency.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, on Sep. 10 and Sep. 11, law enforcement personnel arrested ten people for the following charges in connection with the investigation:

• A 41-year-old Santa Maria Man for Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine with a Gang Enhancement
• A 43-year-old Nipomo Man for Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine with a Gang Enhancement
• A 27-year-old Nipomo Man for Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine with a Gang Enhancement
• A 36-year-old Portland Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 67-year-old Santa Maria Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 33-year-old Nipomo Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 31-year-old Nipomo Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 33-year-old Nipomo Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 31-year-old Orcutt Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram
• A 31-year-old Grover Beach Man for Conspiracy to Possess Cocaine for Sale with a Weight Enhancement Involving More than One Kilogram

Detectives have requested additional charges be filed against the suspects based on evidence collected during their investigation including felony child endangerment, sales of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school, possession of assault weapons, and active participation in a criminal street gang added the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
