Firefighters conduct week-long 356-acre planned burn east of Arroyo Grande

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo is conducting a long canyon vegetation planned burn of 356 acres this week east of Arroyo Grande.

The burn will take place from Monday, Oct. 23, to Friday, Oct. 27, from 9:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. along Huasna Valley Rd and Mary Hall Rd in the Community of Huasna, according to CAL FIRE SLO.

The fire department said firefighters are burning vegetation in this area to help reduce fuel loading and create a more fire resilient landscape.

Crews are working on this burn in cooperation with the SLO County Fire Safe Council, SLO County APCD and local landowners, according to fire officials.
