Santa Maria man arrested for grand theft near Lowes in Paso Robles

PASO ROBLES, Calif. – A 36-year-old Santa Maria man was arrested on Monday, Jul. 17 for grand theft, burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen/fictitious checks, and possession of a stun gun by a prohibited person.

Around 9 a.m. on Monday, Jul. 17, Paso Robles Police Department (PRPD) responded to a call of grand theft inside the Lowes at 2445 Golden Hill Road.

According to PRPD, the 36-year-old was arrested after fleeing the Lowes on foot with multiple pieces of store merchandise in his clothing.

During the investigation into this incident, PRPD detail it was determined that the man had previously stolen a log splitter on Jun. 30 at the same location by cutting the table it was secured to.

The man was transported to and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
