Body recovered off Avila Beach on Sunday identified as 40-year-old Burbank man

AVILA BEACH, Calif. – The Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a man whose body was recovered from the waters off of Avila Beach on Jun. 18.

The man was identified as 40-year-old Christopher Neil Chisholm of Burbank, California.

According to San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, Chisholm was kayaking with a friend when he fell out of his kayak and his friend was unable to rescue him.

Chisholm's body was recovered two hours after his disappearance and his death appears to be accidental detail San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
