Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to suspend service between Goleta and SLO to make urgent track repairs

SANTA BARBARA & SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif.– Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner will temporarily suspend service between Goleta and San Luis Obispo to make emergency track repairs following the heavy rainfall.

The service will be suspended north of Goleta station for up to 16 days to make immediate repairs along the track starting Jan. 12.

The following trains will be adjusted due to the work:

Southbound

  • 774 will originate in Los Angeles (suspended between San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles)
  • 794 will originate in Goleta (suspended between San Luis Obispo and Goleta)

Northbound

  • 761 will be cancelled
  • 777 will terminate in Goleta (suspended between Goleta and San Luis Obispo)

Meanwhile service between Los Angeles and Goleta will resume operations Jan. 12.
