Heavy rains expected across San Luis Obispo county Jan. 9 to Jan. 10

County of San Luis Obispo Office of Emergency Services

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – The National Weather Service expects the approaching rainstorm to drop four or more inches of rain Monday, Jan. 9 through Tuesday, Jan. 10.

That amount of rainfall can cause localized flooding, power outages and strong surf conditions.

Residents and visitors should avoid waterways and low lying areas as those regions are at a high risk for rapid rises in water level according to the County of San Luis Obispo Office of Emergency Services.

SLO county's Emergency Services Manager Scott Jalbert cautions, "don't wait until it is too late."
