Warming centers in SLO County opening ahead of cooler weather

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – In preparation for the cooler weather, the South County Warming Center in Arroyo Grande is opening its doors Wednesday night.

Overnight guests will be provided a safe, dry place to sleep and a hot meal.

Sleeping cots and bedding will be provided as available, but pets are not allowed.

The warming center is located in Arroyo Grande, next to the library.

It opens at 5:30 p.m. and will close by 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

The 40 Prado Warming Center in San Luis Obispo will also open up for those in need Wednesday.

Those needing shelter can arrive any time between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Pets are allowed and smoking is allowed in the designated smoking area. The warming center closes at 6 a.m.
