SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A "Free Tianna Arata" press conference and rally is set to take place at the San Luis Obispo County Courthouse Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

The City of San Luis Obispo and it's police department have said they fully support the right to exercise free speech so long as it is done in peaceful and lawful manner.

“Numerous peaceful protests have taken place in San Luis Obispo over the past few months. We are reaching out to organizers and fully expect this event will be safe and peaceful as well. Our community may be in the spotlight on Tuesday, and it’s our collective responsibility to work together to convey our values of respect and inclusion at this important time,” said City Manager Derek Johnson.

The City also asked that people wear face coverings and physically distance themselves from others during the rally.

NewsChannel plans to send a crew to this event, and updates will be provided during the NewsChannel 3 Midday newscast, in our NewsChannel evenings newscasts as well, and of course streaming online.
