President Biden signs over $22 million in funding Central Coast projects

KEYT

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. – President Biden signed over $22,000,000 in federal funding on Thursday for Central Coast projects advocated by Congressman Salud Carbajal, according to Carbajal's office.

Officials said that these funds will now be available for the expansion of Highway 101 carpool lanes, and support upgrades to public spaces in Santa Barbara, Lompoc, and Santa Maria.

Furthermore, the funds will also help renovate a key bridge in Arroyo Grande, make upgrades to a critical multi-use pier in Morro Bay, and other projects along the Central Coast, according to officials.

"With these funds, we will be able to make critical upgrades that will reduce traffic, upgrade our public spaces, and improve access to food and clean water across the Central Coast," said Congressman Carbajal.
