Semi-truck catches fire on Nojoqui Grade south of Buellton, traffic down to one lane

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A semi-truck caught fire on the northbound side of the Nojoqui Grade on Friday, impacting traffic in the area.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said the crash happened around 12:45 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 near the summit of the Nojoqui Grade, south of Buellton.

Firefighters said two of the three lanes of the highway were closed as of 1:30 p.m. Friday.

California Highway Patrol Buellton estimated all lanes will reopen close to 6 p.m.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out, and the flames were confined to the cab area of the truck.

Santa Barbara County firefighters said no injuries were reported.

According to the CHP incident page, a tow truck was called to the scene around 1:20 p.m.
