Black bear spotted on HWY 192 in Carpinteria

CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Another bear was caught on camera this week in the Santa Barbara area.

A local viewer named German Corona got footage of the black bear running down Highway 192 at Shepard Mesa Road in Carpinteria.

He said it happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

After spotting the bear, Corona said he called the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office to report it.

In the video, you can see the bear run up to a large Eucalyptus tree off the side of the road and stand against it for a moment before scampering off.

Another black bear was spotted near Lizard's Mouth just last weekend. A family caught video of the bear while returning from a hike along West Camino Cielo.
