Applications underway for upcoming LEAD Goleta Academy

GOLETA, Calif. — Applications are now being accepted for the upcoming LEAD Goleta Academy.

The free bilingual six-week course teaches students how local government works.

The acronym L.E.A.D. stands for Learn, Empower, Advocate and Discuss.

Curriculum organizers hope this will inspire students to get involved locally to shape the future of Goleta.

Spaces are filling up quickly and capacity is limited to 30 students.
