June 30 FAFSA deadline approaches for interested students

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. – Heads up for anyone interested in applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) program for the current academic year, the deadline is Friday, Jun. 30.

If you are heading to school for the Fall semester, you may still be eligible for partial or full Pell Grants, but you need to submit your 2023-24 FAFSA form soon to get priority consideration for financial aid.

According to LendingTree, national FAFSA submissions for this academic year are on pace to be 21.6% lower than the 2021-22 academic year. In California, that pace is currently at 23.3% lower, ranking 22 nationally.
