San Luis Obispo Police Department shares 2022 crime report

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – In the 2022 crime report, officials with the San Luis Obispo Police Department saw an 18% increase in violent crime and a 5% decrease in property crime.

The report also mentions an overall 3% decrease in 'Part 1 Crimes,' which are homicides, commercial burglary, rape, residential burglary, robbery, theft from vehicles, and aggravated assault. 

The report shows a total of 2,069 'Part 1 Crimes' in 2021, compared to last year, with a total of 2,011.
