Oxnard police investigating after man is found shot on sidewalk

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Thursday evening.

It happened around 8:35 p.m. on the 200 block of James Avenue in Oxnard.

Police were called to the scene to check on the well-being of a man on the sidewalk. When they arrived, police located a the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was transported to the hospital where he is currently listed as being in critical condition.

The Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and is investigating.
